Meet Coach Joe with a few words of wisdom for your week!

We often find ourselves wanting so much in so little time. PRs, improving technique, learning new movements, oh yeah and finishing faster than the guy next to you… definitely need to beat him.

Us CrossFit-ters are an ambitious bunch. But we don’t all have the mental fortitude of Katrin. We get discouraged if we’re not seeing all the things we want right now. Or if our long term goals seem miles away.

It can help to ask yourself a couple questions when you find yourself in the same spot. “What would you like to achieve this session?” And “What would it take?” simple enough!  

The answers are usually not hard to find, you can probably imagine your coach telling you the right thing. It’s the act of stepping back and looking at ourselves from an objective point of view that can change things.

“I want to learn to handstand walk,” good, you have one answer. What will it take? “It will mean putting other things on the back-burner.” Exactly. Let that guy pass you. Don’t sweat a little less weight on the bar today. But when the handstand comes around. Give. It. Everything.

Focus, fall, ask a coach for help, keep falling, focus harder, then, maybe.
