Skill-of-the-Week

One of our most frequent suggestions from our awesome members in the many surveys we put out has been to "teach me movement X" or "I need to spend more time on X outside of class but I don't know what to do!" so, here you go =]

Every week, we will be putting some quick & dirty (<20 min) drills on the board (the board by the black cabinet) and they will stay up for the week to be used on any day you come in to the gym and want something extra outside of class time. They will not always be the sexy stuff! Don't avoid the non-sexy stuff because that is the stuff that makes sexy happen! ha! These Drills will be focused on the basic gymnastics movements for a good while, working on things like pull-ups in more detail. They are something a beginner novice can do and they are just as much for our advanced athletes! This will allow you to conquer some of those movements that we just can't spend the entire hour on in class but that we know you really want to master. 

Open Gym is a great time to utilize this, which is available every day except Saturdays. Weekdays during our regular hours and Sundays as announced here and on our STFCCF Member Group on Facebook.

 

Coach Assessments

It's that time of year again! Pre-summer discussion of chiseled abs and quads of steel. Haha, Not really but come on! Whether you want that or not, One on one time with a coach is an important part of your membership here. It is a huge form of accountability to have a plan for what the next few months looks like for you! Maybe it's fine tuning, maybe it's learning something new, maybe it's finding out what your next level is.

This week there will be a sign up sheet on the announcement board where you can book a 15-minute sit down with a coach to discuss... well, anything really. Last time we had a lot of people with new years goals which they needed help attacking, members that wanted to jump into WOD but needed a boost, or members that had signed up for events like spartan races and needed support figuring out how to attack. But we are here to help you through the more ordinary stuff as well. Like if you don't have any goals but feel like you should, or if you can't seem to find the right class schedule to fit for your busy family life and work schedule, or maybe you simply want some adult conversation and to get rid of your kids for 15 minutes haha.

*we ask that anyone seeking nutritional guidance to come prepared with a written 3-day food log ready for conversation or sent to us in advance.  This will allow us to give you the best guidance possible! If you're unsure, please ask a coach for more info on how to do this.
